I studied Economics at the University of Cologne and Sport Management at the German Sport University Cologne where I also earned my Ph.D. in July 2009. In October 2012 I joined the University of Tübingen as Full Professor for Sport Economics (Chair in Sport Economics, Sport Management and Media Research). My research is focused on the economics of league competitions, the economic analysis of sports demand as well as the financing of sport systems. On this page you can have a look into my work and read some of my articles (e.g. in Applied Economics, the Journal of Sports Economics or the Social Science Quarterly) and media contributions (e.g. in the Bundesliga Magazin, the Manager Magazin or UEFA · direct).
